Young TX Boy Finds Support in Fight Against Medulloblastoma
Wear custom designed silicone bracelets to support awareness. Medulloblastoma is a cancerous tumor that starts in the region of the brain at the base of the skull. Primarily a pediatric cancer, about 20% of childhood brain tumors are Medulloblastomas and about 500 children are diagnosed with this form of cancer each year. Caleb Johnson, a boy from Texas, was diagnosed in October 2014 and continues to battle the disease. His dad, along with many of his supporters wear wristbands printed with “CALEBSTRONG” to show their love and devotion to this brave young boy.
The Caleb Johnson Road to a CURE Facebook community has grown to over 2,200 followers. Caleb was only six years old when he was diagnosed with Large Cell Ana-plastic medulloblastoma. His treatment includes surgery, proton radiation, and high-dose chemotherapy followed by a bone marrow transplant.
