Support for Girl Fighting Cancer With Wristbands

Custom designed silicone bracelets help you to show support for your loved one fighting with cancer. “Your child has cancer” are words nightmares are made of. With all the fear and sadness that come with a cancer diagnosis, especially for a child, there often also comes a community of support that families could have never anticipated. That’s what happened to a teenager named Sydnee who was diagnosed with Medullary Thyroid Cancer. A friend of Sydnee’s mother, Lisa, has been a great support to the family, including creating “Shootin’ for Sydnee” custom wristbands. The wristbands are sold through a Facebook page to raise funds for the family. A GoFundMe page has also been created.

Shootin’ for Sydnee Wristbands

At only 14, Sydnee loves basketball and Lacrosse. The wristbands feature sports artwork and the phrase “Shootin’ for Sydnee.” Lisa said, “I wanted to have a circle of friends with something that physically showed her our support and felt that the bracelet would be something simple to wear and also inexpensive for everyone to contribute.” The support for Sydnee in her community has been great, and Lisa has already placed an additional order for more custom support for Sydnee bracelets.

About Medullary Thyroid Cancer

According to the Thyroid Cancer Survivor’s Group, Medullary thyroid cancer is a rare type of thyroid cancer that comes from a group of thyroid cells that are called parafollicular C-cells. It is rare in children and adolescents, affecting less than one child per million per year.
